Placeholder feature, written so it doubles as the brief. A Spotlight is an interview, not an advert. It should read like somebody spent an afternoon at the company and came back with something true.

Open on a person, not the company

Start with somebody doing the work, on a specific day, on a specific site. The reader should know within two sentences whose morning this was. Company history goes further down, or nowhere at all.

Real quote here, from a real person, about what the first survey season was actually like.

What the work is really like

The part a careers page will not tell you. Early starts, weather, the drive, what the reporting is like once the fieldwork stops. Honest about the dull parts, because that is what makes the good parts believable.

How people get in, and how they move up

Entry routes, placements, what they look for in a graduate, and what the step from assistant to consultant actually took for somebody who has made it. Names and timescales, not adjectives.

What they are looking for now

One short paragraph, and then get out of the way. This links to their profile rather than repeating it, because the profile is the thing that stays current.
